As the Director of Programs within the technical service delivery department, Success, you will proactively identify, manage and execute on operational and optimization projects and initiatives from inception to completion. This person will work to improve the productivity and efficiency backed by data and trackable by agreed upon KPIs. The Director of Programs will collaborate with stakeholders across all functions of the business, across our New York, Lagos, Kampala and Nairobi offices and report into the VP, Success. The Director of Programs is process-driven, data-driven, and results oriented. They consistently exceed the standards of everyone around them, but rarely exceed their own standards. Responsibilities: The key attributes for this role are: Strategic Thought Partnership Develop and drive high-impact initiatives deployed within the Success group and directly contribute to Andela achieving its strategic objectives. Build and lead impactful relationships with cross-functional and across region team members including the leadership team (VP+). Break silos and drive holistic approaches that deliver service and excellence while setting up Andela and the Success organization for growth. Design The Program Office Plan the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission, purpose and goals of the Success. Develop and implement quarterly and yearly goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcomes expected of Success. Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement Develop Operations service delivery model to ensure the continuous delivery of services to Success stakeholders Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization and consistently exceed professional standards Propose and oversee team required to drive operational and program support for Success. Deliver Program Excellence Strong project management including setting timelines, goals, deliverables, and executing accordingly along with a solid communication plan. Communicate with stakeholders to gain community support for the program and to solicit input to improve Success delivery to stakeholders. Lead the team to identify, research, evaluate and recommend projects that optimize business and team performance based on defined objectives and key results. Define hypotheses, perform analysis, and come to a conclusion that solves operational and program problems. Set-up, manage and coordinate cross-functional projects that are critical for driving business results. Ensure that program activities comply with all relevant organizational legislation/professional standards and leverage global best practices to establish project management standards that would be used in the Success group . Liaise with other managers to ensure effective and efficient operational and program delivery. Oversee prioritize initiatives executed in partnership with Sales, Partnerships, Talent Development leadership etc., then set an appropriate timeline given Success capacity and plans to achieve goals. Program Risk & Evaluation Management Create governance frameworks to oversee programs and initiatives within Success and in collaboration with other departments. Structure analytical and data-driven approaches to evaluating and executing projects. Monitor the program activities on a regular basis and conduct an annual evaluation according to the program evaluation framework. Develop and maintain tracking systems for each program initiative’s health and status. Identify program/initiative risks and proactively mitigate those risks. Report on governance and risk so Andela leadership is aware of blockers and can support in risk mitigation. Report evaluation findings to the VP, Success and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate. Team Leadership Supervise direct reports and collaborators by providing regular direction, input and feedback. Ensure all direct reports receive orientation, appropriate training and performance reviews in accordance with organizational standards. Coordinate the delivery of services among different stakeholders to increase effectiveness and efficiency. In consultation with relevant key stakeholders, recruit, interview and select well-qualified team members. Ensure staff within your team are compliant with the policies, procedures and practices of the organization. Supervise and set the standards for performance management for all program staff. Support and facilitate the definition of departmental structure to ensure that they are effectively structured to meet the business needs of Andela. Develop an annual budget and operating plan to support the program. Qualifications: Ideal candidates for this role will have: Background in technology consulting desired though not required. Excellent project management skills Have at least 7 years of experience working in program, client, partner management in fast paced global organisations.
