Specification KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -Handling of disciplinary issues matters and processes. -Responsible for developing and maintaining effective policies and procedures so that labour disputes and grievances are minimized or eradicated. -Handles negotiations between employees, union members or reps and employer bodies. -Interpret and ensures compliance with South African labour laws regarding conditions of employment. -Provide safety procedures and standards for safe working practices. -Conduct audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and compliance. -Advice management of all legal requirements. -Assess illnesses or injuries in the workplace and the completion of relevant documents such as IOD forms. -Recommend ways to minimize and improve injuries in the workplace. -Participate in employment contract agreements. -Represents the company in legal hearings on labour issues, e.g. CCMA, Labour Department etc. -Makes recommendations for changes to the existing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with new or proposed government regulations. -Assist with any other HR issues or activities. -Handling dispute resolution and managing the grievance process. -Establish and maintain good relationship with employees and management. -Encourage improved working conditions so that employees can be productive, safe and happy. -Encourage ongoing conversation between the employees and the employer in order to keep the work relationship healthy. -Liaise with departmental managers to determine skills deficiencies and future training needs for promotional and productivity purposes. -Ensure that the disciplinary processes are enforced when necessary. -Ensure that performance management and career development discussions are communicated to relevant parties. -Compile the Early Warning System' report quarterly and Co-ordinate training and coaching for the purposes of employee retention.-Conduct, analyse and address the concerns raised through the employee opinion surveys. -Responsible for the recruitment and selection process. - Administering the online recruitment system to identify potential candidates. -Advertisements of vacant positions, shortlist and invite candidates for interviews. -Arrangement of ride-along and home visits involved in the recruitment process. -Take part in interviewing, selection and appointment of candidates. Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: -Grade 12. -HR, IR, Labour Law, Industrial Relation, Industrial psychology or any Employee Relations Qualification will be an advantage. -Minimum of 3 years' experience in Industrial or Labour Relations. -Minimum of 2 years' experience in recruitment and selection. -Computer literacy - Microsoft Office. -Good time management skills. -Good communication and negotiating skills. -Presentation and coaching skills. -Good leadership, ethics, problem-solving, strategic thinking and cultural competency. -Team player, peoples person, task orientated with excellent administrative skills. -Be prepared to travel when required.
