Introduction Position Summary The Technical Sales Manager role is responsible for managing and growing sales with an assigned customer base of current and prospective customers, developing relationships with customers. The technical Sales Manager will be responsible for promotion and sales of all agronomy products and services offered by Avima (Pty) Ltd. Specification Build relationships and form mutual trust with new and current customers to understand their needs. Develop a business plan by customer that demonstrates the best crop production practices to maximize yield. Conduct sales calls to promote and coordinate the profitable sale of crop nutrients, seed, crop protection, precision ag, and services as well as other products offered to satisfy customer need Conduct sales calls to promote and coordinate the profitable sale of crop nutrients, seed, crop protection, precision ag, and services as well as other products offered to satisfy customer needs. Grow and maintain business with customers as assigned by management. Develop a strong working relationship with location manager and Avima agronomy team to maximize customer service and teamwork. Develop a strong working relationship with supplier representatives to help support their products as prioritized by the Avima leadership team. Assist in facilitating operations to meet outlined customer service expectations. Examine results of crop production studies to discover and enhance characteristics such as yield, quality, adaptation to specific soils or climates, and resistance to diseases and pests. Demonstrate full knowledge of and enforces the cooperative's credit policy. Requirements •Matric / Grade 12 is essential Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy, Agriculture or related field is essential Crop advisor certification will be advantageous A minimum of 5 years' experience in sales of technical products in the agronomic industry in seed, crop protection, Entomology, Horticulture or related field Regulatory knowledge of Act 36 of 1947 Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication Strong organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to collaborate and negotiate Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical data, financial reports, and legal documents Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form A willingness and ability to travel at least 80% domestically •Must be skilled in learning new technologies.
