Job Description

Introduction is South Africa's biggest independent, free-to-air television channel.
With over 16 million viewers, appeals to all races, ages and income groups and is the most viewed English language channel in the country.

The incumbent Responsible for the full execution the planning process, implementation and maintenance of a channels schedule, ensuring that all information attached to each programme is accurate and up to date.
Major Accountabilities
-Compile, schedule and implement the linear and/or non-linear schedules across multiple platforms and channels in accordance with the channel(s) requirements, ensuring adherence to contractual requirements.
-Submitting schedules for rate cards and communicating with commercial time sales department regarding break formats and final rate cards
-Applying and facilitating programme changes to the schedule and advising relevant departments of changes.
-Creating programme versions, short titles and format
-Creating and analyzing break patterns for implementation across channel plans and platforms.
-Assessing contracts for regulatory compliance following the implementation of the programme schedule.
-Reconciliation and reporting of As Run, TX Reports and Playlists post transmission
-Presenting final schedules, highlighting new series and programmes
-Compiling and maintaining the monthly Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), weblistings and playlists across channels and/or platforms for delivery to Multichoice, Platco, Online and other affiliates when necessary, adhering to all delivery requirements and formats.
-Liaising with Commercial Time Sales, Media Management and Presentations on any weekly and/or daily discrepancies to the schedules.
-Communicating all programme changes to internal and/or external departments including Multichoice and Platco in a clear and accurate manner
-Creating and communicating changes in running orders of programmes to Publicity and Creative Services and all relevant departments.
-Responding and assisting with ad-hoc queries and tasks when required.
-Observing, reporting and communicating all programme/schedule/channel related discrepancies timeously.
-Support and assist with ad-hoc tasks and queries when required.
-Assist with inventory exercises including, but not limited to monitoring of series start and end dates, checking outstanding licensing issues and untransferred material.
-Compiling and maining programming reports to be distributed to the Manager: Programme Scheduling and/or relevant stakeholders.
-Sourcing programming information such as synopses, year of production, cast, crew, running orders etc in the absence of the Programme Co-Ordinators.
-Monitoring all local and international deliveries and media queries and flagging all discrepancies with the relevant departments.
-Loading contracts when required
-Verification and scrutiny of contractual requirements including, but not limited to licence periods, exhibitions, costs, and licence terms and conditions.


A relevant qualification in marketing, film and television, or administration
